Happy Earth Day!: Diary of an Eco-spiritual-preneur: Part Whatever.
Hippy Earth Day!
This is so cool! It's David Suzuki's Earth Day Speech! He's talking about how far we've come, since Earth Day was started in 1970!
There's some EXTRA COOL ideas in this post! A lot of stuff relating to Earth Day and I'm talking about where I'm up to with things too!
...But I'm going to carry on using Blogger instead!..NAAAY!?
Wix is cool, but it's not the right bag at the moment. They've added some themes for bloggers, but it's no good for bloggers who use write a lot or who use affiliate marketing links, because they don't have the ability to use rel='no follow'.
Rel='no follow' is a search engine optimization (SEO) thing you add to your links to tell the search engines your link is related to what you're doing, but not to make a proper link between your site and theirs. If you don't have that your site will be 'penalized'. I can't help laughing at that word! Wix has been taking votes on whether to include that feature, so I'm going to leave it like it is and maybe they will soon or maybe I'll pick something else. I would have to pay for it to have my domain name connected howtobehippy.com which now points here. So I'm going to go on and make more effort with this and make it look better. I think we'll all know what we're doing better too when Mercury Retrograde finishes next month. This is the natural time for sorting these things out.
How's Art AccountI love my new Twitter Art account! I suppose I did it as kind of a form of procrastination, but it's worked out well and it inspires me so much to do the rest of my work and my followers' art is absolutely breathtaking! I wish I could give the time to retweet everybody, but it didn't work out for my financially before, so that's why I've done it like this now.
I'm asking for any spare tools and gardening equipment for my allotment on freecycle.org If you haven't used it or heard of it, it's a SERIOUSLY COOL IDEA! People advertise anything they're throwing out on there. You can ask for anything on you want on there! But you'll see people give just as much more than they get or ask for because it's things they don't want and are getting rid of. Why don't you put your area in the search box. It's worldwide!
People have volunteered to be the moderator in your area, and all you do is get the emails showing what's being offered or asked for! It's the easiest thing in the world! You're expected to collect it yourself, so if it's something big like furniture you need a vehicle. People actually give those away too, but you have to fix them up. It depends what's in your area. You wouldn't believe how many chickens get given away here!
I slowed down while I was making the Wix website. But I'm going to carry on using Social Jukebox with How and Conscious again and maybe my art account too.
Nothing is real. Nobody's perfect, but it's good to have some heroes, and one of mine, and a lot of other people's is Tim Fargo, the creator of Social Jukebox I started using it when it was called 'Tweet Jukebox', when he very first started it, and he was just trying it out. I was in a mess with this at the time. Right at the beginning of it. So, it was like a miracle! It helped me in such a massive way to get my business started!
Now it's called Social Jukebox, and still incredibly cheap for how cool it is. You can do a lot more with it now too, like post to Facebook and LinkedIn. You can keep your tweets going all the time while you do other things. Work smarter, not harder. I think it's like recycling or renewable energy! Sustainable Social Media! Tim does a lot, and he has a lot of friends. He's a multi-millionaire, but he never leaves you waiting around like...is the norm..! And that's why! Isn't it! He's so nice, natural, funny, respectful and kind. I've learned a lot from him. If you're on Twitter, you'll have seen Social Jukebox in action. You could try with the free account, or go for it, and take the first proper account I use at $19.99, as that's what you'll end up doing after messing about with the free one. At the moment, I'll get twice the commission on whatever account you buy! See that's how good Tim is! Watch the videos on the FAQ Page here, and if you've been thinking about it already just go for it!
Every Interaction is a Transaction.Love is free. The earth is unconditionally loving. Sunshine is pure, free, unconditional love. But interactions with other people are an energy exchange. It's more unconditionally loving to accept that. We know people will often do well through the use of status and manipulation, and sometimes, underlying that, that's because of their own practical and hierarchical constraints. But I don't believe that's the norm at all! Most of the time people do well because of their sense of responsibility and commitment, and those are qualities and conditions of the heart.
We've all got the same Human Needs motivating what we do. People will sometimes pretend, or unconsciously believe and say, that they're doing something for you unconditionally, but it's rare, if ever, that they really are. Even if it's just to enjoy the feeling of loving other people, having their company, and being accepted or approved of, most of us feel hurt when what we're offering is rejected. It just means you've got to grow, so you've got a better offer, and that it's only ever certain people who are going to want it.
A lot more famous people have become involved in the ethical and spiritual movement now too. People who became originally well known because of their music or as an actor. Ricky Gervais for example. There's people on breakfast TV, and pop stars with millions of fans like Pit Bull, who lots of us hadn't heard of til now. Hippies don't usually have TV's and aren't into what they do. I get the odd social media crush, and I spent a long time looking at Peter Andre's Twitter profile one day! (he's such a nice person isn't he) But for me it's always best when the interest is mutual! and Pit Bull's doing his own thing!
So, no matter how entertaining you are, not everyone likes everyone, relationships are more about sincerity and quality, than quantity, and I do think we tend to focus on the wrong things, but if we can be alright with our own stupidness it naturally makes it go better.
Everyone wants to be able to think of themselves as a good person, and someone with their own mind, and a person who's achieved something. That's why it's really cool if you can do work where you're helping other people or the planet, like Pit Bull apparently! Whether you're on his thing or not, it's seems kind of phoney. When there's Greenpeace, Friends of The Earth, The World Wildlife Fund etc, been doing everything all this time. But with 24 MILLION FOLLOWERS, I'm sure he and the others can do loads! and so can everyone now! As long as it's not complete and total green washing, and just saying stuff, anything at all that you do is cool.
There's always something you can do in every community, especially now. There's millions of ways in which people help each other. But if you are looking for something eco, here's a couple of cool environmental jobs websites a friend told me about, that also have really good environmental volunteering and training opportunities too - Countryside Jobs and Environment Job.
Giving and ReceivingThe relationship between receiving and giving, yin and yang, is a deep, important thing in all of life. I wrote an email to my subscribers about this - giving and receiving, and Freecycle, but it was just before Christmas and a lot of people didn't open it. So I thought I'd do it in a blog post.
If you asked someone close to you for something you needed, not necessarily a physical thing, or if they just knew that you needed something, they might feel under pressure to give it to you when they don't want to, or they might not mind, but regret it later if you didn't use it much, or if you didn't seem grateful enough, or if they missed having it, or if you didn't seem to do enough nice things like that for them.
Also, you might be throwing something out and ask someone close to you if they want it. They might feel patronized or insulted, because it's something you're throwing out.
You know the kind of thing. Once, me and my mum went on holiday and we didn't have many holiday clothes. So she asked her friends to lend us some. We got loads, and we didn't wear all of them. We wanted show that we appreciated it, and it was nearly time to go home, so we put them on and took photos of each other posing, wearing them! It was really funny! But it's hard to be honest isn't it. People can get hurt and disgruntled if what you do doesn't affirm them. But it can also get totally surreal and ridiculous! Like a farce!
Unconditional LoveAs well as showing how much abundance there really is, Freecycle is a brilliant example of unconditional love between humans! If you're throwing something out, it's a pleasure to give it to someone who really wants that! and if you need something, someone will pipe up who is about to throw away that very thing!
So what are you going to do for Earth Day then?I'm going to my allotment today! I think we should buy from small businesses while we're on social media! I do that myself!! If you want to buy something from me, and the other small conscious companies that make their goods, then buy something you want at THE EARTH SITE SALE!!!
If you can see some good ideas in this for your peeps, share the love with the buttons at the bottom!
But whatever you do, don't go without CHECKING THIS OUT!!! You can make one of your own and share it! I'm sure all they want is exposure for their services.
I hope you feel inspired and have a cool one!
.....it's looking a lot better already isn't it! if you've seen this blog before. I'm still sorting it out. Thanks to Blogger for their support and the new themes! - https://blogger.googleblog.com/2017/03/share-your-unique-style-with-new.html
